Dorothy has been with First Methodist Preschool since 1989. She and her husband, James, live in Mexia. She has two daughters and four grandchildren.
Dorothy serves in so many ways, and in so many classes and helps all the teachers and children in so many ways. She has been a leader in all age groups and taught every class during her time at FMP. In addition to teaching, she is the leader for our lunchroom and food program. She is a backbone of this ministry.
Dorothy has her certificate in child development and also continues to participate in training with our FMP staff.
Dorothy says, “My favorite memory is seeing my first group of FMP kids grow up and become adults and then bring their own children to the same Preschool they attended. Wow, now I’m on the second generation….. I find it hard to believe time has gone by so quickly. That’s awesome to me, and some of the girls have actually come back to work at this Preschool working as my coworker. Time truly does fly!”
